We are looking for a volunteer to fill the role of Researcher – Applications Evaluator, who will be carrying out project activities, working with applications data, finding and reviewing applicants worldwide, etc.

At Water Air Food Awards we believe that addressing the world’s most acute problems - Water, air and food security - starts with identifying exceptional pioneers in sustainable initiatives, that are innovative and proven to work. We share their stories across multiple platforms, aiming for global reach. We give them the visibility they deserve to inspire change and gather support to scale and replicate their solutions.

WAFA’s goal is to become a mainstream platform that mobilizes the global public. Together, we bring to light the good deeds in the world and spread a genuine message of hope.

We count on our volunteers to make that happen. Are you our new team member?

You are a proactive, detail oriented, self-starter and a team player. You work well with others in furthering the applications processing and overall goals of WAFA. You report to the Research Team Leader.

Your tasks:

  • Research potential applicants

  • Reviewing, analysing and scoring projects

  • Writing emails to applicants

  • Participate in regular team meetings

  • Development of system processes

  1. Role requirements

    • Education background: preferably you hold a higher education degree in relevant field e.g. engineering, biology, communication

    • Experience: no formal experience is required.

    • Skills: research, critical thinking, analysis, environmental awareness, passion for humanitarian work, good team work, dedication to set tasks.

    • Computer knowledge: must possess good computer skills, we work with Google Docs, Skype, Zoom and various website and databases.

    • Languages proficiency: our working language is English. Other languages would benefit the team.

  2. Minimum working hours per week

    • 2-5 hours

  3. Extra comments

    • Activities to participate in all year around with most commitment required between November and March.

    • All work is virtual and team members are located in different regions of the world

You will be working remotely and require access to a computer with fast internet connection. Regular Skype meetings with the WAFA area managers are required.

It goes without saying that you enjoy working with people and are a team player, and that you are self-driven and well-organized.

We are looking for two volunteers to fill in this role. Your work will be from home via Internet, therefore your country of location can be worldwide.

We would like our new Researcher-Applications Evaluator to start as soon as possible, therefore we are recruiting on an ongoing basis and have no deadline for applications. You can expect a response from our HR Manager, Mrs. Astghik Hovhannisyan, within a week of submission.
