VELUX CSR & Sustainability Report 2017

VELUX Group continues to make progress towards reaching its 2020 goals in four focus areas.

The focus areas are:

Energy and climate
Zero-waste production
Sustainable sourcing
A safe and healthy workplace for all VELUX employees

Our main achievements in 2017 include:

34.2% reduction in carbon footprint in all VELUX factories compared to the 2007 baseline
97% of waste materials recycled in production
99.5% of wood used in VELUX windows in Europe comes from certified, sustainable forests
2.5 work-related accidents per one million working hours – five times lower than the comparable industry benchmark

In 2017, VELUX Management Group approved new CSR and Sustainability Policies. They support the UN Global Compact’s 10 principles and will strengthen our global risk management efforts in the future.

The VELUX Group strongly supports the global sustainability agenda; thus, we have sharpened our focus on contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by carefully selecting five targets to maximise our positive impact. The five targets are:

SDG target 3: Good health and well-Being
SDG target 7: Affordable and clean energy
SDG target 11: Sustainable cities and communities
SDG target 12: Responsible Consumption and production
SDG target 17: Partnerships for the goals

Dansk arkitektstuderende vinder international arkitekturpris

Den danske arkitektstuderende Henry Glogau løber med den globale arkitekturpris, VELUX International Award, der er den største af sin art for arkitektstuderende fra hele verden. Henry Glogau har imponeret juryen i sådan en grad, at hans projekt blev udvalgt ud af de i alt 579 projekter, der blev indsendt af studerende fra 250 arkitektskoler i 60 lande.

VELUX lancerer nu VELUX App Control, som er en helt ny service, som giver boligejere fuld kontrol over alle deres elektriske eller solcelledrevne VELUX INTEGRA®-produkter og ovenlysvinduer - og således sikrer det gode indeklima i hjemmet. 2019 Sustainability Report released - VELUX Group contributes to a more sustainable society

In 2019, the VELUX Group reduced its global carbon footprint by 47% from the baseline year 2007. This brings us even closer to reaching our goal of a 50% reduction in carbon emissions in 2020 and demonstrates our continued contribution to a more sustainable society.

VELUX Gruppen plantede 25.000 træer i landsdækkende skovrejsningsprojekt

VELUX Gruppen donerede 500.000 DKK til at plante nye skove i Danmark i forbindelse med kampagne for træernes betydning for klimaet og nærmiljøet.
