Attend this year’s bioplastic conference thursday the 27th of february 2020 to learn more about the latest innovations within biobased and biodegradable plastic.

Bioplastic Conference 2020

In these years sustainability is becoming one of the most important agendas. This has implications on what materials we select for our products and how we recycle or dispose of these.

Biobased plastic, that is plastic materials made from renewable sources, is a topic to consider as part of becoming more sustainable. Likewise, biodegradable plastic, which is plastic that degrades into naturally compatible substances, might be a way to reduce pollution from plastic that cannot be collected for recycling.

The conference is structured around cases from the industry combined with a market- and application overview and input from policymakers, consultants and other experts.

The Bioplastic Conference 2020 brings together experts from the entire value chain in bioplastics to update the industry on developments within the field. The day offers both national and international speakers in as diverse fields as feedstock and raw material suppliers, plastic converters, brand owners, authorities and organizations.

Biobased plastic is primarily made from renewables and this family of plastic materials is increasingly used. This happens as a direct replacement for traditional plastics but also in entirely new products and applications. Both climate- as well as marketing gains might be obtained by doing so.

Another type of bioplastic, often mentioned in the same context, is biodegradable and compostable plastic. This is plastic, made entirely or partly from renewables and made to biodegrade and compost according to global certifications. At the conference, you can hear more about both types and in what kind of applications they are appropriate

The program

The day begins with an overview of the topic provided by the European Bioplastics Association, European Bioplastics. The subsequent speakers represent different industries and will discuss bioplastics both in packaging context and in durable applications. Similarly, there will be cases and examples that address biodegradability and general perspectives on end of life options for bioplastics.

During lunch a number of material suppliers and biopolymer manufactures are available for discussion and chat about opportunities and applications within this group of materials.

Preliminary program with confirmed speakers. Sequence and topics subject to change. Finalized program available ultimo 2019
