BESTSELLER’s Responsible Sourcing team are looking for a new colleague to support our continues journey within product compliance and safety.

Responsible Sourcing
The Responsible Sourcing function sits within BESTSELLER’s corporate business unit; Global Supply Chain. We manage social impact, labour rights, chemical and environmental impacts and improvements across BESTSELLER’s global supply chain. We manage risks in the supply chain and products, set policies and standards, develop the strategic direction and deliver continuous improvements across these areas. We are data-driven and focus on driving improvements through transparency of the supply chain and product performance through effective measurement tools. We are an international team located both in our main offices and in our regional sourcing offices. We work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders externally and internally across BESTSELLER to support and deliver on brand purchasing and sales strategies, as well as our Fashion FWD Sustainability Strategy.

The Team
The Product Compliance team cover legal requirements within chemical and physical safety and set the guidelines for BESTSELLER products. We act as the point of contact for our business in matters related to chemical and physical requirements, legislation and testing in all aspects of product compliance.

We have an ambition to be an even greater service provider to our Brands on the physical area (flammability, children’s product safety) and on non-garment products. With you on board, we will increase our focus on knowledge and systems regarding physical requirements as well as non-garment products.

About the job
As Product Compliance Specialist you translate your product knowledge and technical information into comprehensible and relevant information to a variety of stakeholders from different cultural and professional backgrounds.

More specifically your tasks and responsibilities includes:

  • Constructing manuals and policies regarding physical and flammability requirements for textiles
  • Building up knowledge on product safety for children’s products
  • Keeping track of global legislation and standards on relevant product areas
  • Maintaining and improving the automated IT system within the flammability area
  • Providing training and consulting services to our Brands
  • Closely collaborating with laboratories and suppliers

Your Profile
You work in a structured manner and set high standards to yourself and others. You know when to stand your grounds, but communicate and influence with a friendly and inclusive approach. Your educational background can be manifold, however product knowledge is key. Furthermore, we are looking for a profile that holds:

  • Knowledgeable of legislation on product safety
  • Experience within the interpretation of legislation and actions towards compliance preferably from the apparel industry
  • Knowledge of quality and compliance terms used in the apparel industry
  • Experience with suppliers and laboratory relations
  • An analytical mindset and structured approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
