This Summer School unfolds the United Nations’ sustainable development goals through student participation in a cross cultural and cross educational context. The goals are unique in that they call for action from all countries; poor, rich and middle-income alike to promote prosperity, all the while protecting the planet.

Through student participation in a cross-cultural and cross-educational context, this summer school will unfold the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. The goals derive from the United Nations’ international agreements on processing towards explicit sustainability in 2030.
The course is a collaboration between:
  • VIA Faculty of Health
  • VIA Faculty of Education and Social Studies
  • VIA School of Business, Technology and Creative Industries
The course is based on an entrepreneurial approach and students will develop their creativity through case-based group work. Cases will be real cases from organisations/businesses.
The course will focus on the following global topics, inspired by the United Nations’ sustainable development goals:
  • Health and well-being for people of all ages
  • Reduced inequality within health care, different ethnicities, social classes and gender
  • Sustainability through circularity in production, consumption, cities and communities
  • Strong, democratic and engaging institutions for all

The summer school consists of 10 ECTS
At the end of the course the students will be assessed through presentations of the work of the students on the presented cases. Assessment can be graded if necessary.
