About the job

You will drive and improve our sustainability initiatives internally and externally in this role. You will train and guide the internal team to ensure that our initiatives are well anchored, and you will work on building partnerships with relevant stakeholders and customers to convert our sustainability efforts into business opportunities and solutions in line with our purpose. You will be the primary contact person regarding new sustainability developments and regulatory changes (legislation) and help guide us and implement these across our organization.

To support us on our sustainability journey, you will:

  • Guide and implement sustainability projects across the organization that connects to our purpose and the targets set to reduce PNO’s carbon footprint
  • Motivate the adaptation of new and existing sustainability projects within the team and with customers and stakeholders
  • Lead the sustainability communication and engagement initiatives with our partners (B Corp and UN Global Compact) 
  • Maintain awareness of global sustainability trends, reporting improvements and metrics and KPIs to be integrated into PNO’s sustainability focus
  • Prepare the annual impact report and annual corporate responsibility report, presentations, and proposals regarding sustainability initiatives. Present recommendations to the team, board, customers, and stakeholders
  • Support with tender questions related to sustainability questions i.e., Procurement or Commercial

Qualifications and mindset

  • Knowledge of current sustainability concepts, issues, and best practices
  • You are highly structured and know how to prioritize, plan and execute
  • Experience in developing, planning, and implementing strategic sustainability initiatives
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and like to bring clarity to anything
  • You are a people person who loves to build relationships and get people engaged
  • Curious and entrepreneurial
  • A balanced sense of optimism and humility with a desire to make things better
  • Resilient to change and comfortable with fast-shifting priorities, workload, and responsibilities
  • Full professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of additional languages would be an advantage but not a requirement.
