We are looking for a Sustainability Specialist with a passion for seafood to drive our sustainability program “Our Sea, Our Fish, Our Food” together with our Head of Sustainability.
We offer you a challenging and independent role in an international working environment with opportunities to influence the sustainability agenda. Here, you will support us in driving our initiatives forward and track performance against our targets throughout the organisation to ensure a high level of engagement and activity on actions and projects. You will be responsible for data collection for our annual sustainability report.
Your main tasks will include:
- Manage Espersen’s sustainability reporting and disclosures, in preparation for the transition to CSRD
- Work collaboratively with all markets and functions, providing support and guidance on sustainability topics and regulatory developments within the sustainability field
- Support internal and external communication and educate and engage your colleagues
- Develop and maintain policies and position statements
- Engage and participate in relevant network meetings to review and analyse current sustainability trends within fisheries, e.g. MSC, ASC, GSSI, GGGI and EC
- Coordinate projects in partnerships with suppliers, customers, and NGO`s
As our Head of Sustainability is going on maternity leave, you will cover some of her tasks from march 2023 until march 2024.
The ideal candidate most likely holds a Bachelor/Master degree in Natural Science or equivalent – combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience from a similar position.
As a person, you are structured, have an open mind and possess strong analytical and communication skills, together with a can-do attitude.
You are a natural team player, comfortable working in an agile, fast-moving environment and energized by new challenges.
You have excellent presentation skills with the ability to simplify complicated information and deliver clear insights to a non-finance audience.
Our corporate language is English, so we expect you to master this – both written and spoken.
It is considered an advantage if you have experience from the food or seafood industry or have previously worked within a manufacturing company.

The role may involve occasional travel to our production plants, approx. 10 annual travel days.
