Sharing and exchanging knowledge makes Danish companies, universities and organizations world-leading in innovative food products and solutions. Presented to a problem, the Danish answer is always: How can we do better – together?

A history of working together

Collaboration is no new idea in Denmark. In the 19th century, the cooperative movement developed as Danish dairies, slaughterhouses and grocery stores organized in cooperatives to secure better working conditions, higher yields, quality products and earnings.

Facilities, equipment and technology have changed – the mindset has not. Today, as in the 19th century, a principle of cooperation between both large- and small-scale farmers has pushed the boundaries for food production and innovation. One result of this effort is the Danish collaboration between researchers, farmers and public authorities that has eliminated salmonella in Danish poultry.

Collaborating to reach the SDG’s

If we are to reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), companies and organizations must work together.
