Nilfisk releases CSR Report –joins the Science Based Targets initiative and commits to reduce carbon footprint by 35 percent
Today Nilfisk published its 2019 CSR Report as well as its Annual Report for 2019.
During 2019, Nilfisk saw good progress in executing the company's business strategy - in particular in efforts to globalize the company. Over the course of the year, this globalization also encompassed Nilfisk's CSR work. Global CSR initiatives and programs were established, global CSR targets were set in multiple areas and data was collected across markets to ensure that progress is accurately measured and accelerated.
The transition towards becoming a global company has enabled Nilfisk to better analyze and respond to sustainability risks and opportunities. In 2019, the company completed a comprehensive collection of resource and emission data from all sites, giving the company a global overview of resource consumption. This overview which enabled Nilfisk to make a firm commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of the company.
In 2019 Nilfisk committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and set science-based targets for its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. By adhering to the globally recognized methodology by the SBTi, Nilfisk will strengthen its CSR efforts and help limit the impacts of climate change and keep global temperature rise below 1.5 °C.
In the coming year, the company will also work towards confirming a Scope 3 science-based target from Purchased Goods and Services and Use of Sold products and implement tangible solutions to continue reducing our Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.
