Danes are overall good at recycling. But does it come with age?

Data in Denmark shows that the older you get, the more you recycle. In the last year, 63% of Danes between 60-70 years have recycled more than 10 times.

When looking at the younger spectrum of Danish society, 42% of Junior Millennials, those between 18-29 years old, have recycled 3-5 times during the past year.

Even though recycling is a broadly practiced by the majority of Danish people, it is interesting to look at these generational differences when it come to stimulating a more circular society.  Junior Millennials are actually the group most negative towards reducing their consumption, the least positive about repairing their things, and also the group that are the least frequent recyclers. Understanding these trends is important in moving towards a more circular economy, as a one size does not fit all.
